What happened to good tipping etiquette?

I swear!  The past two months I’ve seen more bad tippers than in the whole rest of my career!

Tipping is minimum 1$ per song.  So 3$ to get a girl naked.  So Do you have ANY idea how rude it is to come up halfway through the third song, put down a SINGLE DOLLAR, and expect the red carpet treatment?  It says “You are barely worth 1$” and is offensive.

Also, if you’re at the rail you MUST tip. Dont come up halfway through that last song, and act like “well, its ONLY half a song, no point to tipping her!”.  And If a girl comes up who isn’t your type, either tip her, or move to a table further back.  Don’t sit there, using seats at her rail, just scooting a foot or so back in a “I do not wish to dine” posture.  INCREDIBLY offensive.

Do NOT wave that dollar around and yell “you have to work for it!”  Do NOT take that dollar back. Once it touches the rail, its no longer yours.

Do NOT try to grope the dancer while offering a dollar.  Pay for a dance, cheapskate!

If you’re there with a significant other, its a dollar PER PERSON.  Your couple is NOT a single person.

Do NOT accompany that dollar with offensive talk, IE “you look good for a mother” or “hang it up sweety-my tits are better”.  Why would you even THINK that was OK?

Please note, a dollar is the MINIMUM increment.  If you offer a dancer the change from teh drink the waitress just brought you, it BETTER be paper.  Otherwise said drink my end up in your lap before you can drink it.

DO NOT assume we will dance around or get naked if you aren’t tipping.  This is a JOB. If you wanted free naked dancing, get your wife to take a “stripper 101″ class or read lapdance tips online. And if you ARE not tipping any of the girls or buying dances, DON’T tell everyone who drops by to ask for a dance, that they make more than the average lawyer.

I heard a rumor about the 1$ bill being phased out.  I would love that.  Its been the minimum for decades, for our tips… But that hasn’t kept place with inflation.    We should by rights be receiving 5$ bills onstage…and NOT just from the big spender…  It probably won’t happen, but it NEEDS to.  SOme clubs are giving out their change in 2$bills…  Helps with dancers money, AND encourages to spend it since the only place you see that increment is in the club, and you don’t want your wife to find it.

Le Sigh.  I love my job, but some of the people that come attached to it are REAL scumbags.
